5 Enchanting Facts About Disney's Beauty And The Beast Remake

Disney's highly anticipated Beauty And The Beast remake starring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens will be released on March 17, 2017.

And though you probably know a lot about the fairy tale from its popular 1991 version, we're here to share some interesting factoids about the latest rendition. Go ahead and impress your friends...or get made fun of for being a movie nerd.

1. There will be three new songs added to the live-action film. The first is called “Days in the Sun” which tells the story of the castle’s enchanted objects’ lives before they were transformed. The second will be entitled “Forever More” and marks the moment where the Beast finally realizes how to love. As for the third song, we’ll just have to wait and see!

2. The film is directed by Bill Condon. For all of those Team Edward and Jacob fans out there, you might remember his work in the final two Twilight movies. Bill also was behind the camera for the Oscar-winning movie, Dreamgirls. Needless to say, we think this film is in good hands.

3. Ewan McGregor, who will be lighting up our screens as Lumiere stated that he has had a hard time with the animated role. According to the actor, perfecting the character’s iconic French accent was difficult. McGregor, who’s wife of 20 years is French, said his accent would quickly turn to in a weird Mexican-French blend.

4. Belle has a bigger backstory in the live-action rendition of this Disney classic. Emma Watson said that she imagined Belle creating machines that would do her chores for her and would give her more time to read. This is not the only thing that has changed about the legendary princess, Watson will not be wearing a corset for the role. Since she is an active princess, costume designer Jacqueline Durran made sure her clothing would allow her to move freely.

5. Emma Watson will be singing in the movie. Recently, Disney released a clip of her grace rendition of “Something There."
