Jana Kramer continues to make us proud by speaking out against domestic violence, and deservedly, the songstress was honored for that work this month in New York.
Safe Horizon presented its Voice of Empowerment Award to Jana during the organization's 2017 Champion Awards. Her brief acceptance speech was nothing less than inspirational, and at times very emotional. Jana revealed last year that she had been the victim of domestic violence at the hands of her first husband.
"I thought that if I shared my story, that people would view me as broken ... [so] I held it in for 14 years," she tearfully told the audience. "It kept getting worse and I didn't know how to get out ... I was a girl full of light, energy, and charm, and this man just broke me down to absolutely nothing." See all of Jana's speech below.
