Just Browsing

With their power to suggest everything from social standing to political leanings, to era inhabited, the brows have it.  Shaped or unkempt, eyebrows and their face framing prowess deserve our respect and attention.  For the scoop on brow practices, we turned to Melanie Coba, National Brand Ambassador for European Wax Center.

1. Can you share some current eyebrow trends?

I’m loving the fuller yet subtly arched brows. The more natural-looking, the more on trend! Also, feathering the tips of the hairs that extend out of the shape is in now!

2. Any tips you can give us to keep eyebrows groomed properly?  What products do you recommend to do so?

Be careful with tweezing in between waxes, it’s better to keep a few strays here and there when you’re uncertain about than to tweeze too many! That’s why I love our READY. SET. BROW! PERFECT BROW GROOMER, it instantly shapes and sets brows in place so you won’t even notice your stray hairs! The Groomer is also a great tool to use when feathering, you can just apply the gel upward and outward.

3. What do you recommend for those of us who don’t have brows like Cara Delevingne?

Filling in brows is a part of my daily routine and I recommend all women do to make their brows look fuller. The BROWFECTION BROW POWDER DUO is a great product to use to fill them in, it makes them look so natural!

4. Is there a way to create an arch for those of us who don’t have a natural arch?  If not, what do you recommend?

First off, embrace the flat brow! Take a moment to celebrate your sexy and seductive natural brow shape. But, if you want to change it up and put some emphasis on your arch, do the following:

  • Identify where your arch is
  • Start applying your brow powder/liner at the arch
  • Define the area using a slightly heavier hand then you will with the rest of the brow
  • Apply highlighter under the arch area

This will emphasize the arch of your brow! Even though flat brows are literally everything (my favorite shape), it's nice to mix it up and try new things. Slight changes to the brow can change the whole face.
