Shania Twain To Mentor The Voice Contestants Ahead Of New Album

NBC's The Voice is adding another big gun to its star-making arsenal with the addition of country music's top-selling female artist of all time, not to mention of the top-selling artists of all time.

Shania Twain will serve as a key advisor and mentor for this season's Top 12 contestants, making her debut Monday, April 24. She's not new to the gig, having mentored contestants on FOX's American Idol. The latest news came from the diva herself via Twitter last week.

Excited to announce that I'll appear on @nbcthevoice this month, as a mentor to the finalists. Tune in on Monday 24th April at 8pm ET/PT

The country-pop superstar joins the cast as she readies a new album. "I'm so overdue," she told Entertainment Weekly late last year. "I feel like I just need to keep making albums now." There's still no official release date for the unnamed project, though she recently told Rolling Stone it would hit stores in May.
