'90s Shows We Wish Would Make A Comeback

The news that The Magic School Bus is getting the reboot treatment and will be headed to Netflix on September 29th has us reminiscing about some of our favorite '90s TV shows.

Even before Netflix, Hulu, and all of the other on-demand channels provided endless TV shows for your enjoyment, '90s kids still had some pretty amazing options to choose from. Here are a few we'd love to see get revived:

Salute Your Shorts

We would love to head back to Camp Anawanna and get into mischief harassing goofy counselor "Ug" with the gang. This show was all about practical jokes and embodied the carefree experience that camp brings. Plus, it had this amazing theme song. If you're a true '90s kid, you can still sing the words by heart.

Salute Your Shorts Intro

Salute Your Shorts is an American comedy television series that aired on Nickelodeon from 1991 to 1992 and in reruns until early 1999. It was based on the 1986 book, Salute Your Shorts: Life at Summer Camp by Steve Slavkin and Thomas Hill.

Hey, Dude

The show is set at the Bar None dude ranch and focuses on the ranch owner, his son, and a host of teenage summer employees. It was another Nickelodeon staple, and though you can now stream it through iTunes and Amazon, we demand a remake ASAP.

Are You Afraid of the Dark?

Admit it: this show scared you to an unreasonable degree when you were a child, and you're pretty sure if you watched it today it would still terrify you. Sure, you could watch American Horror Story or something to satisfy that need to be creeped out, but we'd love to see this '90s cult classic come back to life. There's a zombie joke in there somewhere...

The Adventures of Pete and Pete

This comedy series focused on the mischievous adventures of two brothers, both of whom are named Pete. Though they deal with normal bouts of sibling rivalry, the brothers go to battle helping each other fight off enemies (anyone remember Pit Stain?) and deal with other childhood trials and tribulations.

The Adventures of Pete & Pete Intro

The Adventures of Pete & Pete is an American children's television series created by Will McRobb and Chris Viscardi for Nickelodeon. It centers on the humorous and surreal adventures of two brothers both named Pete Wrigley, along with an eccentric cast of family, friends, and enemies.

Long before anyone had heard of Instagram, Netflix, XBox, or any of the other numerous ways in which kids entertain themselves today, '90s kids had some pretty top notch programming available to them. We'd love to see some of these shows come back for today's kids to enjoy!
