Massachusetts Fallen Heroes' 2nd Annual Patriot Week
Created in 2016, Massachusetts Fallen Heroes' Patriot Week aims to find creative and meaningful ways to educate and inspire the citizens of Massachusetts about honor, service, sacrifice, character, duty, patriotism, and freedom—the real meaning behind Memorial Day and the values that so many young men and women have given their lives to protect.
This year, Patriot Week runs from May 20 – May 29, 2017. Events are as follows.
May 20th: Patriot Fest

May 20th – 26th: Statewide “Honor Their Sacrifice” Community Events
Cities and towns will participate in the inaugural “Honor Their Sacrifice” community program. These community events will give student groups, veterans service organizations and patriotic citizens the opportunity to pay it forward in their community through an awareness campaign and service projects.
May 21st: Boston’s Wounded Vet Motorcycle Run

May 22nd – 26th: 2nd Annual Statewide Educational Program
Schools in Massachusetts will participate in a statewide educational program in which teachers, headmasters, principals, Gold Star Families and Veterans will educate students about Armed Forces Day and Memorial Day. Massachusetts Fallen Heroes will provide the resources and literature for educators to create individualized lesson plans that will have an emphasis on service, freedom and sacrifice. The Educational Program will also tie into the community events as described above.
May 23rd: Patriot Forum
High-ranking military officers and government officials, defense contractors and industry-related professionals will be invited to participate in an exclusive forum at Federal Reserve Bank of Boston to discuss current world issues.

May 23rd: 7th Annual Memorial Dinner
This annual event at the Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel raises funds for programs and services that benefit Massachusetts Gold Star Family members and veterans. Previous dinners have allowed us to operate with 85% of our revenue being allocated to the programs that serve our Gold Star Families and veterans.

May 27th: Re-Dedication of the Memorial
Gold Star Family members, elected officials and the general public are invited to an intimate re-dedication of the Massachusetts Iraq and Afghanistan Fallen Heroes Memorial located at 85 Northern Avenue in Boston’s Innovation District.
May 28th: Run to Remember Boston
Massachusetts Fallen Heroes will have a team of 50 runners participating in the Run to Remember on Seaport Boulevard. This annual race is a tribute to fallen law enforcement officers and first responders.
May 29th: Memorial Day
Massachusetts Fallen Heroes will participate in media conferences throughout the day to build awareness around Memorial Day. United States Air Force F-16s will conduct a statewide flyover following the National Moment of Remembrance, that asks Americans to pause in an act of national unity for the duration of one minute beginning at 3:00 PM on Memorial Day.
