Christina Grimmie had a promising career ahead of her. After coming in third on the sixth season of NBC's The Voice, her path to stardom seemed to be right on track. She was getting gigs all over the country. Tragically, it all came to an end earlier this summer when Christina was shot and killed after a concert in Florida. Her family, fans, friends, The Voice staff and the world were truly shocked and saddened by the loss. In preparation of season 11, The Voice judges all performed an emotional version of Aerosmith's "Dream On" as a tribute to the late singer. Watch the powerful performances here:

This season features 2 female judges for the first time, in addition to regulars Blake Shelton and Adam Levine. Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys have been added to the line-up and given their own revolving red chairs. Season 11 premieres September 19.
Christina was coached by Adam Levine on her season of The Voice. Levine announced that whatever the outcome of the show, he would sign her to his label 222 Records. Lil Wayne also offered to sign her to his label. Ultimately, Grimmie signed with Island Records, before being dropped.
