Meet Ayla Brown: singer, songwriter, business entrepreneur, and spokesperson originally from Wrentham, now living in Nashville.

When first we heard of Ayla Brown, it was 2006 and she was a contestant on American Idol. That's where we learned she was the daughter of (soon to be) State Senator Scott Brown and WCVB Channel 5 reporter Gail Huff. Then, there was Ayla the Boston College basketball star. Now, we are coming to know Ayla as a country artist. She has released 4 country albums, made her Opry debut, and started her own record label. She describes her sound as country-Kelly Clarkson. But Brown's interests appear to know no bounds, as does her energy. She tours, records, serves as the spokesperson for the Songs of Love Foundation, has performed for American troops overseas five times, and was the official anthem singer for the Philadelphia 76ers! We are honored to have Ayla back in Boston for the Open Canal Street block party, just before the Soul2Soul tour performance at the Garden with Tim McGraw and Faith Hill on July 8th.

The Brown Sound

Ayla just visited our Local Catch studio and performed her original song,"Take Your Name." Catch it here:

Ayla was joined in our studio by her boyfriend, Rob Bellamy, and they performed a fun duet they just worked up called, "Always Have a Home."

Her latest single debuted as the 9th most downloaded song on Play MPE. It's about falling in love with your best friend, and wanting to take their name. Take a listen to "Take Your Name"
