Eric Paslay Releases The Work Tapes
Raw, fresh and real. That’s a good way to describe Eric Paslay‘s The Work Tapes.
The Work Tapes is a five-song collection of first-time, in-the-rough recordings of songs Eric has written, rediscovered by the star as he prepped for his upcoming sophomore album. Some were recorded they day they were written, sometimes acoustically using nothing more than a smartphone.

“While working to finalize my second album, I spent weeks revisiting all the songs I’ve written,” Eric says through his publicist. “I couldn’t believe how many were left behind never to be heard, but also how refreshing it was to hear them again in their raw, imperfect state just moments after they were written. I hope my fans will enjoy listening to the very beginning of a songs journey with this collection.”
“Chances are you won’t hear these songs on the radio,” Eric explains in an introductory video posted to YouTube. “Ninety-nine percent of the time you won’t hear them on an album. But I love ’em. I wrote these songs, and some of the most talented people in Nashville are my co-writers … I’ve written over 1,500 songs in my career. As I’ve been working on the next album, my wife and I spent weeks going through all these old songs … There was something refreshing about hear these songs in that raw and perfect form, just moments after we’d written them.”
