Jason Aldean Honors Troy Gentry In New Jersey
Jason Aldean is among those paying his respects to Montgomery Gentry’s Troy Gentry, who died in a helicopter crash before a concert in New Jersey on September 8th.
Jason was performing the very next night in Holmdel, New Jersey when he took a moment to honor the fallen singer. “Those guys were always really cool to me coming up when I was a new artist,” Jason explains in a fan-shot video. “They took me under their wing … and I really needed to hear that. So I wanted to give a shout out to Troy tonight.”

The superstar made a point to mention Troy’s penchant for a good time. “One thing I know about Troy is he always loved a good time [and] always had a smile on his face [and] liked a good party. And I think tonight’s a pretty damn good party, so here’s to Troy Gentry.” Aldean and his band then launched in to Montgomery Gentry’s “Lonely and Gone” from the duo’s debut album Tattoos & Scars (above).
