NASCAR Widow Opens Up About Personal Experience After Troy Gentry’s Death
Country music fans were stunned last week after learning Troy Gentry had passed away in a helicopter crash.
Liz Allison, the widow of former race car driver Davey Allison, took to Twitter to express her shock over Gentry’s death. She also said she can relate to the phone call Troy’s wife received regarding his passing.

Davey Allison also died as a result of a helicopter crash. In 1993, Allison was flying a helicopter to Talladega Superspeedway when he crashed near the track.
According to the New York Times, he was rushed to the hospital where he underwent surgery — but he never regained consciousness.
In another tweet, Liz admitted that when she heard Gentry died in a helicopter crash, it took her back in time.
My heart hurts for #troygentry family & friends. When I heard it was helicopter accident it took me back in time. Hate those things. 💔🙏
