This Lightbulb Will Give You Another Reason to Stay at Home and Watch Netflix
The word “Netflix” has become an important part of our vocabulary.
From “Netflix and Chill” to “Binge Watching”, we are sure something relate to the streaming service has at least once been mentioned in a conversation. Beam, a new smart lightbulb, will now give you something else to talk about.
Originally started as a Kickstarter, the lightbulb “can turn any flat surface into a big” screen according to their website. Beam I controlled by an app on your phone or tablet via Bluetooth to Wi-Fi. Once the lightbulb is screwed into any socket, you can use it to beam anything from online…including Netlfix. Not to mention, the bulb also works as a regular light source. So, not only is this fancy lightbulb the source of your entertainment, but it also gives you light! You can switch between the projection and light option all by one button on the app.
Some other examples that are shown on the Beam website of how to use the product include: an alarm clock, looking up cooking recipes, reading news headlines, and checking the weather.
Beam also has 8GB of storage so you can download you own content onto the device. The days of showing off projections of family photos are now back!
Essentially, this smart lightbulb is a projector that can fit anywhere. The projection will is approximately 845 x 480p and is easy to maneuver onto any wall. Beam is currently on sale for a whopping $560. Yes, this may be a steep price, but think of the duel uses you get out of one object! Not only do you receive a smart device that can beam anything, but you also get a lightbulb. Those suckers alone are mighty expensive!
We are sure that the future of technology is just going to follow in suit. Pretty soon everything is going to be a smart device!
