Thomas Rhett Leads Crowd In Moment Of Silence For Victims Of Las Vegas Shooting
Add Thomas Rhett‘s name the long list of music artists paying their respects to the victims of the October 1st shooting in Las Vegas.
The “Unforgettable” singer stopped a recent concert in Charleston, SC and led his audience in a moment of silence for those injured and killed during the tragedy. “Our hearts are so heavy for everybody in Vegas,” he told the crowd. “This should be a place that you come to have fun, and to not worry about anything. I just want to say thank you guys for showing up tonight. Thank you Charleston.”
Continuing, Thomas noted, “I believe in God, I believe in Jesus Christ. I’m gonna pray, but can we just have 20 seconds of total silence?”
Thomas, his band and crew observed their own moment of silence before the show. “It was very strange walking into an arena for a night of music after the horrible events that took place a few days ago,” Thomas noted in an Instagram post. “We decided as a band and crew that we would not play this or the shows to come in fear, but rather in a spirit of love and joy that music is supposed to bring. We will never forget this tragic event but we will continue to celebrate the good in the world.”
