Maren Morris Performs “Dear Hate” Live For The First Time
Maren Morris, who released “Dear Hate” featuring Vince Gill in the wake of the October 1st shooting in Las Vegas, recently performed the song live for the first time. The emotional moment was captured on video.
The rising star performed the song as an encore after asking the audience to observe a moment of silence for the victims of the tragedy. “I never thought I’d be performing it honestly, but I feel like the message was so powerful the day we wrote it, and that was three years ago and it rings even more true now, unfortunately,” she explains in the video, wiping away tears. “Music is such a healer and you guys as music lovers, I know I said it earlier, but one of the most powerful things you can do is just showing up here tonight. We’re not gonna stop playing music. We’re not gonna stop going to shows.”

Noting the response followings its release, Maren offered words of hope. “So I’m gonna sing it tonight and I hope that, God forbid, any of you lost anyone in that tragedy or if you’ve just gone through some dark times, I hope this maybe brings you a little light.”
Look for Maren at upcoming shows in Mississippi, Alabama, Missouri, Oklahoma and Kansas, to name a few. She’s got dates on the book through the fall of 2018. See a complete list here.
