Walker Hayes Scores Some Heavy Metal With “You Broke Up With Me”
Sometimes what glitters is gold. Just ask newcomer Walker Hayes.
The “You Broke Up With Me” singer just achieved Gold status with the song, which means sales of more than 500,000. It’s also logged more than 50 million streams since its release. “It is hard to describe how it feels, a gold record,” he says through his record label. “I am so grateful for the support from everyone who made this happen. I appreciate all the people who got on board with this project and this song. I’m so honored.”

The rising star was presented with a plaque commemorating the achievement at a private event in Nashville recently. “I’m so proud of this I can’t keep my tongue in my mouth,” he quipped in a photo posted to Twitter. “You Broke Up With Me” is still climbing the charts and currently sits at No. 14. It’s the first single from his upcoming album Boom, which is set for release December 8th. Fans can pre-order the project here.
