LOOK: New Thomas Rhett Video For “Marry Me!”
It’s not your typical Thomas Rhett song…you know, the one where he gushes about his wife, Lauren. Not this time. Not this tune. This time, Thomas is the story teller. Telling the tale of what might have been. He recently told Billboard that “Marry Me” was basically his “what if” song. Rhett went on to say, ” there was a time [Lauren and I] dated and broke up forever and almost married other people… That’s a very morbid thing to write about, but it’s one of my favorite songs on the record, I’m such a sucker for a sad song.” Most people are a little shocked the first time they actually listen to the song and realize it’s not a TR love song, despite the title.
