Florida Georgia Line Reflect On Another Super-Successful Year
The end of the year is a great time for New Year’s resolutions, obviously, but it’s a pretty good time for reflection as well. Just ask the guys of Florida Georgia Line who’ve enjoyed a stellar 2017.
There was the uber-successful Smooth Tour, of course, some impressive chart successes with songs like “God, Your Mama and Me,” and even jaunts into other genres through collaborations with The Chainsmokers, Hailee Steinfeld and Bebe Rexha. But the best moment of the year? “That’s really tough to say,” Brian Kelley admits through the duo’s record label. “I’d say it’s selling out Wrigley Field or Fenway Park with the Backstreet Boys and Nelly. That was pretty ridiculous.”
Got told we were the #1 streamed Country artist this year -

Each of those successes could have easily been missed, too. “That was an idea that Tyler and I cooked up and we thought everybody would think we were crazy, [but] we kind of pulled it off,” Brian continues. “It’s a good reminder that these ideas that come to your mind … they’re not stupid. You’ve just got to take a chance, and maybe move to Nashville, or maybe ask the Backstreet Boys to get on a song with you. But good things happen when you take a chance and have a positive attitude.”
Odds are that Brian and Tyler will be reflecting on even more and bigger successes at this time next year. For now, they’ve got a series of standalone live dates on the books beginning in February. A new album is in the works, too. Stay up to date on all things FGL here.
