Meet: Annie Brobst, a Spanish teacher turned award-winning singer/songwriter from Danvers!

If you've ever seen Annie perform, she definitely looks like she was born for the stage. She has a comfort and confidence not often seen at the local level. Whether performing her originals or doing covers, Brobst owns the lyrics she sings. Singing in choirs, while in grade school, was her first taste of performing.  And for the last 7 years she has been performing in bands. Annie moved to Massachusetts from Columbus, Ohio in 2007 to take a job as a Spanish teacher at a North Shore middle school. Before long, she realized she had to make music her career. Since then she has gone on to open for dozens of major recording artists, and win numerous awards, including the New England Music Award for Female Performer of the Year, last year. She describes her sound as staying true to "pop/country, but with splashes of rock and the catchiness of punk, at times."

Annie Get Your Mic

I invited Annie to come to our Country 102-5 studios to share some of her new, original music. Look and listen! Here's "Love You More" from Annie and her co-writer, Ryan Dupont.

Now, for a "Change of Heart"... from the forthcoming My First Rodeo

Take a listen to the official studio release of "Love You More"
