Meet: Rob Pagnano, an award winning songwriter and soulful singer from Whitman, MA!

Don't let this 6'2" tough guy exterior fool you. Pagnano's delivery is passionate, soulful and sensitive to the lyrics he writes and shares. His voice is effectively worn like a favorite pair of jeans, rendered with enough gravel, like you know he's been there, and powerfully expressed. Rob's main focus growing up was sports. But he says, "Music was a tool to pump me up and inspire me." A freak accident at the age of 26 changed his life. He broke his back that eventually required 3 major spinal surgeries over 3 years. But that injury led him to pick up the guitar. This self taught artist's career didn't even begin until he was almost 29 years old.  Rob describes his sound as a hybrid style, fusing country, rock and soul, with a bit of pop and even some R & B.

The Reel Rob

I had the pleasure of hosting Rob Pagnano in studio recently so he could share some of his original songs. "You Are The One" had just recently won a songwriting award for Rob, as the "Song Of The Month" for Songwriter Universe. It was a huge honor. Take a look and listen to his live version of this well crafted love song:

Here's Rob's latest single, "Roads"

Here's the official studio recording of "Roads!" Which is available on most major streaming platforms. Listen for a piece of it played this Friday after an interview with Rob, around 12:30 on Country 102-5!

Pagnano Principles

  • Biggest influences: NEEDTOBREATHE, Chris Stapleton, Foo Fighters, Zac Brown Band and Gavin DeGraw
  • All time favorite country song: "Your Man" - written by Chris Stapleton, sung by Josh Turner
  • Favorite country concert: Zac Brown Band
  • First country concert: Zac Brown Band
  • If I wasn't a musician: I am someone who keeps very busy and loves starting from the bottom and learning new skills. I do custom woodworking, and recently started photography/film making. I also do public speaking/motivational speaking and mindset training for people
  • Most proud moment: I have battled through the odds/pain and late start to build a name from hard work and consistency. I've won awards throughout the years, but if I had never got started and kept going despite so many obstacles I would not have gotten anything like this past months award for "Song Of The Month" for Songwriter Universe.
  • Craziest thing that happened in music career: I have to say I lived a much crazier first half of my career. We rocked hard and lived a fast paced party life. I remember spinning the mic through the air like a mid evil weapon, and firing it through the kick drum. It burst through both sides and the show was over in epic fashion. It's been much different life over the last few years; 2 years sober and very focused on using my platform to help people.
  • I love the outdoors, hiking and fishing are two of my favorite things to do.
  • I often jump on planes and travel last minute with no plans/rooms booked and just figure it out when I land!
  • I'm 6'2", 300 pounds and can do a split!
