Meet: Maddi Ryan from Methuen!

Maddi Ryan has been drawn to music for as long as she can remember. Her first shows were on top of her coffee table. There she would make up songs for her family, as they shone flashlights on her, as makeshift spotlights. Ryan begged her parents for voice lessons. Along the way, she picked up piano, guitar, alto saxophone and ukelele. She debuted at CMA Fest in 2015 with her former band, Moonlight Valley, and now can be seen performing all over New England as a solo artist. Maddi's impressive and powerful voice carries her clear message, and it's clear she has a passion for what she does.

Maddi Music

Maddi shared two originals in our Country 102-5 studios. The first song is called, "Lonely"

Here's Maddi with "Better Off"

  • If you weren't a musician, what would you be doing: I would be going to school full time to pursue a law degree
  • Most proud moment: When I met someone who said that I was an inspiration to them and they're a big fan...my heart melted
  • Crazy thing that happened on the job: I was playing a restaurant/bar one night and a few people asked if I had a trip jar, I didn't at this particular gig, so they got creative. While I was singing and playing my guitar, people were coming up and sticking dollar bills in the straps of my tank top and in the top of my guitar under the strings! Everyone in the restaurant couldn't stop laughing, including me! That was the only time I ever stopped a song a verse in. I actually had to beg them to stop tipping me!
  • Frivolous Fun Facts: I can play my guitar behind my head/ I'm about 6 feet tall, but still LOVE to wear heels/I'm deathly afraid of spiders/I'm a huge dog person- and miss my dogs so much when I'm at school, that I make my mom FaceTime me so I can see them/ In high school I was the varsity football team's good luck charm, whenever I sang the National Anthem, they won!
