What Can We Expect From Brett Young’s Sophomore Album?
He stepped on the country music scene officially with his first #1 smash, “Sleep Without You” in 2016, and his debut album was released in early 2017. Now over two years since we first heard that soulful growl of his, Brett Young is teasing us with details on his sophomore release!
Yesterday, this photo popped up on his Instagram account with the caption, “A L B U M //[two finger peace sign]”
He hasn’t said a lot about the upcoming release, but says the album, “reflects the place I’m at in life.” One can guess there may be a happier tone to a lot of his songs this go around now that fans know 1) he is taken and 2) engaged with a wedding coming before the end of the year! He shocked a lot of fans back at Valentines Day when he posted about spending it with his girlfriend (who knew?!) and it turns out, they’ve been on again/off again for years. It’s probably safe to say she’s inspired more than one or two of his hits.
By the end of February, the two were engaged:
So, back to the album…nine tracks have been fully recorded with three more to go! He’s been a busy guy, so when did he even find the time to write this album? He’s said, “We wrote most of it on that Lady Antebellum tour last year. I had writers out almost every week on the bus.”
How long will recording take? How about the production time after? Well, that’s hard to judge, but if he’s talking about it already and “teasing” us with it, chances are it’ll be out some time this Fall.
