Meet: Isaiah Bennett from Windham, Maine

You can take the boy to church, but you can't take the church out of this man! The influence of church music is evident. It's rooted in his soul, and it comes out in Isaiah Bennett's powerful, fervent vocals. As a teen, he did sing in church, and that soulfulness never left. Isaiah said he knew he would never make it in sports, so her picked up the guitar and started singing to impress the girls. "Soulful, energetic, top 40 country," is how Bennett describes his sound. I would describe it as rich and buttery. It's definitely a seasoned, confident sound with a bit of an palatable edge. Truly impressive. Isaiah has been greatly influenced by many artists, from Ray Lamontagne, Van Morrison, Amos Lee, Luke Bryan and Bob Dylan. He lives in Maine with his wife and toddler, Finley, and they are expecting another baby! After growing up in southern Maine, Isaiah left at age 18 and moved to Idaho and then California. It was there he started playing gigs in bars and honing his craft. He auditioned for American Idol in 2014, and actually made it through several rounds. He has since released an 2 EPs of original music.

- Most proud moment: My 2nd EP, "Vessels" made it to #9 on ITunes for a good solid week back in 2016, with no money spent on marketing, just a solid push from friends and fans around the country who bought it and told their friends
- Craziest thing that happened in your career: Back when I played a lot of crazy bars in Portland before I was married, I had several encounters with some different women while I was singing. Flashing, a couple danced up on me and sneaked in some kisses. All in good fun, nothing too crazy
- Fun Facts: I'm all about trying to find the best pad Thai in different cities I visit. That, and donuts. Damn, I love donuts
- Got through 3 rounds of American Idol (2014). My wife, (who was my girlfriend at the time) and my mom told me to audition one year, and I thought... what the hell. Super fun experience
- I used to be dangerously good at ping pong and devil sticks when I was younger. I practiced way too often with my brother and cousin and could potentially still hold my own now, even after a couple of beers!
