At the time the evacuation was ordered, the country group was about to deliver an encore performance in Indianapolis -- While on their Back to Us Tour.
According to the Indy Star, chaos unfolded moments before Rascal Flatts were expected to return to the stage.
While local authorities have not released any substantial information regarding what led to the evacuation, a fan in the audience stated that he saw another concertgoer rush the area inside the pit.
Moments later, the piano player stopped playing and exited the stage.
Security escorted the man out of the pit and ordered an evacuation of the venue.
It is not clear if the man in question shouted something at the piano player or made some sort of threat, but due to the evacuation, the encore performance was canceled.
Rascal Flatts issued a statement shortly after the ordeal. While they were disappointed they didn't get to finish their set, their safety and the safety of their fans is their utmost priority.
