Luke Combs was in NYC for a show and went into a high end watch store to buy a Rolex that reminded him of one his grandfather used to own. The clerk refused him service and told him that they didn’t have the watch he wanted to try on, clearly thinking he couldn’t afford it. He then informed them that he was in town to perform at a sold out concert and they suddenly “found” the watch for him to try on and buy
“Avengers: End Game” became the 5th movie to pass the $2 billion mark, and only the second to pass it in 15 days. The only movie to get to that mark faster was Avatar, which is the highest grossing movie of all time. “End Game” also passed “Titanic” to become the second highest grossing movie in history.
Gayle King has doubled her salary. Her new deal will be for over $11 million per year, up from $5 million per year last year. She says Oprah pushed her to negotiate hard and either get what she wants or “make the next best move”.
At 73, years old, Dolly Parton just signed an exclusive licensing deal with IMG. It’s her first attempt at a lifestyle and branding company with clothing, home goods and other Dolly inspired items.
Adam Sandler hosted Saturday Night Live and talked about how his five years on SNL were the best time of his life. He opened the show with a monologue and song about how he was fired which featured Chris Rock also singing about being fired. Janelle Evans’ husband David is still in the news after killing her dog last week. He was just identified by the sheriff’s office as the most dangerous man in the county that they live in, but still won’t face charges for killing the dog unless she chooses to pursue legal action. He was also in court again this weekend for back payments of child support to another ex-girlfriend and he threatened a reporter
Katherine McPhee, 35, had a bachelorette party over the weekend. She is marrying 69 year old David Foster this summer, but she’s currently in London with the touring company of “Waitress”. She came backstage after a performance this weekend and found a party and a “firefighter” stripper waiting for her.
