Keith Urban On His CMT Music Video of The Year Nominated Video ‘Coming Home’
Keith Urban is up for the top honor of Video of The Year at tonight’s CMT Music Awards for “Coming Home” featuring Julia Michaels.
Keith told us of the song, “There’s a lot of components to that song that really excited me as a creative person to try and figure to all out.”
He said of the song’s video, “Again it was trying to put all of that into a song where there isn’t specific imagery, and I didn’t want it to be too literal. So, getting in and putting it all together and then doing the scene with Julia was great because I’m in my element there playing on stage and having her be a part of that. It was just a trip getting to do that, we spent a lot of time down in Little Tokyo in Los Angeles where we recorded and shot a lot of the sternal stuff that looked Tokyo or somewhere it was crazy.”
Aside from his nominations, which include Video of the Year for “Coming Home,” Urban will be performing on tonight’s show.
He posted on Instagram yesterday, “CMT rehearsal- it’s gonna be an epic show tomorrow night !!!!!!! – KU”
The CMT Music Awards air live tonight (6/5) on CMT beginning at 8:00 PM ET.
