Brad Paisley’s “Don Rickles Streak”
Brad Paisley is our next Superstar Mini Concert this Friday, so let’s look back at his interview with Jackson Blue last summer!
Brad was the headliner for our Country Music Festival along with special guests Chris Lane, Riley Green, and Rayne Johnson on the side stage.
Jackson started by highlighting Brad’s comedic side, including the Nationwide commercials with Peyton Manning and his award show hosting with Carrie Underwood. Jackson wondered if Brad had ever considered getting into comedy, “Not really, I’ve always been somebody that looks for sort of the funny angle on something.” It started early on in Brad’s career when he first started singing alone on stage and needed to make the silence in between songs more interesting, which made the performance more enjoyable.
Brad mentions he has a bit of a Don Rickles streak, which has gotten him into trouble before. And, yes, he does write his own material for the award shows, he jokes, “Unless they’re bad and then they’re not mine, they’re someone else’s.”
