A Little More Girl Power In This Year’s CMA Nominations
Well, it’s improvement, so… we’ll take it.
It’s been 3 years since a woman was nominated for the Country Music Association’s highly coveted, Entertainer of the Year Award… but we’re baaack! The award nominations were announced earlier today and a virtual collective sigh of relief could be heard across the country. Carrie Underwood was the last female nominated in this category, and she’s back again this year! All is a little better with the world today.

(Not so) Fun fact: More women will be hosting this year, than are nominated in any category (with the exception of Female Vocalist of the Year, of course)
The 2019 CMA Awards will air Nov. 13 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena; the ceremony will be broadcast live on ABC beginning at 8PM ET. This year there’s a change-up in the hosting duties. Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton will do the honors, and the CMA will be celebrating country music’s legendary females.
Watch Reba and Carrie in this Opry moment, singing McEntire’s legendary, “Does He Love You.”
