Tanya Tucker Remakes Miranda Lambert’s ‘The House That Built Me’
Tanya Tucker remade Miranda Lambert’s award-winning song “The House That Built Me” for her upcoming new album While I’m Livin’, which was produced by Brandi Carlile and Shooter Jennings.
The song debuts today and in Tanya’s version of the song, the lyrics have been adapted to reflect the journey of a mother revisiting the home where she raised her family in order to find herself again.
She posted to Instagram, “I rarely get to do something NEW on #throwbackthursday. ???? I’ve recorded my own rendition of ‘The House That Built Me’ by @MirandaLambert. I poured my heart into this one. Let me know what you think!”
Tucker’s new album comes out on August 23 and in celebration of the release, she will play special, select shows this fall. The performances will be held August 22 at Exit/In in Nashville—with a second appearance added on the 23rd at the Grand Ole Opry, September 17 at The Bowery Ballroom in New York and October 16 at The Troubadour in Los Angeles.
