Maren Morris is thrilled with the debut album release of the Highwomen today (9/6). Consisting of herself, Brandi Carlile, Natalie Hemby and Amanda Shires, Morris explained how they came about on social media this morning.

She posted to Instagram, "I was sitting in the makeup chair at Fallon the week 'GIRL' was coming out when I got a phone call from @brandicarlile. She asked me if I wanted to be a part of this group she and @amandapearlshires were forming that @wruckestrike was also joining that week. It was going to be about inclusivity, love and widening the range of stories women tell through music."

She continued, "I didn’t even hesitate before blurting out “YEAH!” Two weeks later we were in the studio in Nashville recording these songs. This album sounds and feels like coming home for me, and I hope it does for you. We are @thehighwomen and our debut album is out now."
