Meet Yuping Zhu from Andover, MA
Sometimes big things come in smaller packages. This is big. Sixteen year old Yuping Zhu is a big... and growing talent. From the moment she sang her first note, jaws dropped. This high school student is already accomplished as a singer and songwriter. The Andover teen has been penning her own songs since about the age of twelve. Does this sound familiar? Think Taylor Swift. Listening to Yuping, her delivery, phrasing and connection to her lyrics, it's easy to draw similarities.
Zhu has been playing music since she was just three years old. She learned piano first, then picked up the viola. After years of classical music lessons, Yuping started singing, and writing country songs. Quite a transition. Her voice is so tender and so powerful. And the industry is taking notice. Yuping has been invited to sing at the famed Blue Bird Cafe in Nashville! It's one of the world's preeminent listening rooms, recognized as a songwriter's paradise; a place to be heard and a place to be discovered.
