Tonight, Garth Brooks won the CMA Entertainer of the Year award for the seventh time; he's won it more than any other artist. (Kenny Chesney has won it four times, and is the second biggest winner in that category).

Brooks seemed a bit surprised his win, but, as always, was a class act in his speech. “[I] Always try to call it like I see it. If they gave this award for this show tonight, I’d have to give it to Reba McEntire’s performance for tonight.”

He continued, “Kelsea Ballerini! If you want to know what an entertainer is, take a guitar and just a single voice in the middle of an arena and shrink a room... fantastic performance tonight.”

He also gave out a major endorsement: "Luke Combs: this has got your name on it in the future"

He concluded by urging all artists to "Dedicate this [show] to the bands and crews." Finally, of course, he thanked his wife: "I love you Trisha Yearwood!"
