Disney+ Hits 10 Million Subscribers
Disney+ made a huge splash when they launched earlier this week. According to CNBC, the company signed 10 million subscribers within its first day of an international launch. They also add that “Disney signed up more customers in one day than HBO Now, CBS All Access + Showtime, ESPN+, DAZN, and Crunchyroll have signed up in the entirety of their existences.”
It’s estimated that Disney+ is on pace to have between 60 and 90 million subscribers by 2024. But, although Disney+ has high numbers, those figures also include users using the seven-day free trial.
To compare Disney+ to other companies, here is a breakdown of numbers:
Netflix has 60.6 million U.S. subscribers, 158 million subscribers total
Hulu has 28.5 million U.S. subscribers
HBO has 34 million U.S. subscribers, 8 million are HBO Now subscribers
CBS All Access and Showtime has 8 million subscribers
ESPN+ has 3.5 million subscribers
DAZN has 4 million subscribers
Crunchyroll has 2 million subscribers
Amazon has an estimated 100 million Prime subscribers, but those numbers are not public.
