A family in Byron, New York let their Pug "Piper" out to go potty in November, and to their dismay Piper never came back. The family hunted for the dog for weeks with no luck. Just as they were giving up hope they received a phone call that a dog that looked like Piper was picked up and taken into the local animal shelter. The mom, April, went to the shelter and picked Piper up.
This is where the heartstrings get tugged. Piper was a gift for April's son Carter's 12th birthday. Carter didn't know the dog had been found so April and Piper surprised Carter after school.
