Holiday time calls for holiday cheer and good spirit but also spirits. Drinks like egg nog and hot toddies are typically holiday and winter weather go-to cocktails but there’s a lot more to choose from during the holiday season. And we’ve got you covered. From Coquito to Hot Buttered Rum, we’ve created a list of seven holiday cocktail recipes that will help to warm the soul and bring about holiday cheer.

1. Coquito


Lupita shares her simple recipe for the Puerto Rican Egg Nog popular around the holidays known as COQUITO! COQUITO RECIPE: Ingredients: 2 egg yolks, beaten 1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk 1 (14 ounce) can cream of coconut 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk 1/2 cup White rum (Bacardi) Coconut Milk (optional) 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon of Nutmeg (Optional) 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Coconut Flakes (Optional) Cinnamon Sticks (Optional) Directions Combine egg yolks and evaporated milk.

A Puerto Rican holiday staple, Coquito is typically gifted during the winter holidays. It’s often bottled in a recycled liquor bottle and when attempting to be fancy, a ribbon is sometimes tied around the neck of the bottle.

2. Hot Buttered Rum

Butter in a cocktail is definitely unusual. However, if you’re up for this buttery drink that’s usually made in bulk, it’s perfect after coming in from shoveling snow or a day of snowboarding or skiing.

3. Cranberry Margaritas

Lynn demonstrates a festive Holiday drink, Cranberry Margaritas. 1-1/4 cups cranberry juice cocktail divided 1/2 cup sugar, divided 1-1/2 cups (6 ounces) fresh or frozen cranberries, rinsed 3/4 cup fresh lime juice 3/4 cup tequila 1/2 cup orange-flavored liqueur, such as Cointreau 3 cups coarsely crushed ice Pour 1/3 cup cranberry juice into a shallow bowl.

Cranberry juice tends to be a staple for mixed drinks but it’s also a go-to for festive holiday cocktails. You can never go wrong with a margarita, so why not have a cranberry margarita during the holidays.

Harry Potter Butterbeer is wizard approved for all of you Harry Potter fans. It apparently, smells like “liquid Christmas,” so it’s also perfect for holiday time.

6. Kremas

Kremas is a creamy Haitian holiday staple. Similar to coquito, it contains coconut cream, condensed milk, and rum. It’s also usually bottled in a recycled liquor bottle and gifted to loved ones.
