Good News From Julian Edelman: “I Feel Better Than I Have In The Last Few Weeks”
Can we feel confident enough to wipe the proverbial sweat of our brows? At least, perhaps exhale a slight sigh of relief?
After hearing Tom Brady’s go-to guy, Julian Edelman express a hint of confidence, why not? Hey, it’s something. And there hasn’t been much of something to grasp on to in a while.
The Patriots wide receiver has been plagued by shoulder and knee issues as of late. Although Edelman hasn’t missed a game, he has been a regular on the injury report. But it has been obvious that #11 has not been running at his usual 10. In fact, there’s only been 10 catches in the last 3 games for the reigning Superbowl MVP.
Going into tomorrow night’s crucial Wild Card Weekend playoff game vs. Tennessee, Julian’s words to NBCSportsBoston.com are reassuring. “I feel good, and that’s that,” he said. “I feel better than I have in the last few weeks, and I feel good enough to go out and compete at a high level.”
We have always counted on Edelman in the postseason, and he hasn’t let us down. I’ll take that against all appearances.
