Red Sox officially part ways with Alex Cora

With a major suspension likely looming, the Boston Red Sox decided to officially parted ways with manager Alex Cora on Tuesday night, as first alluded to by 98.5 The Sports Hub, ending Cora’s managerial tenure after just two seasons.
This team is not my beat or expertise, and I'll be the first to admit it, but hearing there might be some news coming out of Fenway shortly. OK, now back to the Bruins-Jackets.

According to sources close to the situation, the decision was made shortly after 5 p.m. after meeting with Cora and determining that the situation would be ‘untenable’ given the league’s investigation into the alleged use of technology the Red Sox utilized to gain sign-stealing advantages during their run to the 2018 World Series.
It didn’t help that Cora was also involved in the Astros’ sign-stealing scandal (which led to year-long suspensions and almost immediate firings for Houston general manager Jeff Luhnow and manager A.J. Hinch), either, as it was believed that Cora’s punishment was going to be worse.
The team confirmed their decision just after 7:30 p.m.

As you would expect, the Red Sox have yet to name an official replacement for Cora, who went 192-132 during his run as Boston’s skipper, as the team’s new manager.
