Ayla Reflects On The Tragic Passing Of Kobe Bryant
Tragic news not only in the sports world, but in the world in general with the passing of Kobe Bryant. He was in a helicopter crash in California yesterday at 9:47am where all 9 passengers on board did not survive. Also in the helicopter was Kobe’s 13 year old daughter, Gianna, and another player and parent. They were on their way to a travel basketball game and practice. She was a stellar basketball player herself and was just as competitive as her father. The news comes one day after Kobe was passed by Lebron James for third place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. Lebron during that game had the words “Mamba 4 life” and “8/24 KB” written in Gold marker. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
The Grammy’s were last night and it was a big night for Tanya Tucker. She took home Best Country Album and Best Country Song at the age of 61. It was her first time winning a Grammy while Willie Nelson won Best Country Performance for “Ride Me Home.” Best Country Duo/Group Performance went to Dan + Shay for “Speechless” and Dolly Parton took home Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance for “God Only Knows” with King & Country.
Bachelor stars Jade Roper Tolbert and her husband Tanner Tolbert lost out on the $1 million payout through online betting company DraftKings. DraftKings released a statement this weekend saying that after a multi-week investigation on claims of them cheating and rigging the standings….they have updated their leader board on the Wild Card competition and they are NOT the winners. The company says they won’t go into details, but it appears that the bachelor couple coordinated their lineups to increase their chances of winning, which is a violation of the rules. Someone with the username ‘spclk36’ is now the lucky winner of the $1 million.
