So You Think You Can Plank? A Marine Just Set The Record At Over 8 Hours!
Most workouts involve a little planking. Some workouts involve a little more. But this? This is crazy! And incredibly impressive!
If you’ve ever done the plank challenge that was popular a few years ago, where you had to hold plank for 3 minutes, that was seriously challenging.
Former Marine, George Hood is 62 years old and just set a new Guinness World Record for holding plank over 8 hours!
On February 15 George set the record at exactly 8 hours, 15 minutes and 15 seconds. He did it to raise mental health awareness, as he relayed to USA Today, revealing that the physical challenges have reaped mental health benefits.
62-year-old George Hood planked for 8 hours and 15 minutes and then celebrated with 75 pushups. Yes, you read that correctly. 💪💪💪 https://t.co/x10hAL2hUz

What’s next for Hood? He says he’s ready to move on, and start seriously considering working on a push-up record! In fact, shortly after he set the record, George did 75 push-up! Just for fun? This guy is a beast!
Fun fact: The amount of calories George burned planking all day reportedly burned 4,252 calories! (Somebody give this guy a snack and a beer!)
What’s the longest you’ve ever held a plank position?
