Stagecoach Festival May Be Postponed Due To Coronavirus
Billboard is reporting that organizers of Stagecoach, the country music festival in Indio, California, may move the festival from April to October 23 in an attempt to save the event from cancellation amid concerns about the coronavirus outbreak. Stagecoach’s headliners were slated to be Carrie Underwood, Eric Church and Thomas Rhett. Dan + Shay, Alan Jackson, Jon Pardi, Brett Young, Dustin Lynch, Billy Ray Cyrus and Lil Nas X were among the other artists on the bill.
They are also in talks to move the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, which is held at the same venue in Indio and put on by the same company, to the weekends of October 9 and October 16.
While the deal is not done yet, the promoters fear that Riverside County officials will have to pull the festivals permits, conversations with city officials and talent agents began late Sunday as the hope for staging the festival in April began to diminish.
Yesterday (3/9), three more cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Riverside County where the festival takes place.
