Happy National Girl Scout Day!
March 12th commemorates the day in 1912 when Juliette Gordon Low officially registered the organization’s first 18 girl members in Savannah, Georgia! Juliette envisioned an organization that would teach girls courage, confidence, and character.
Today, there are 2.5 million Girl Scouts—1.7 million girl members and 750,000 adult members working primarily as volunteers. A few notable Girl Scouts are Taylor Swift,
Mariah Carey, Abigail Breslin, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Dakota Fanning.

According to their website, Girl Scouts sell about 200 million boxes of cookies—nearly $800 million worth—during each cookie season. Thin Mints are the most popular variety of Girl Scout Cookies, followed by Samoas/Caramel deLites and Tagalongs/Peanut Butter Patties.
