Kenny Rogers’ Memorial Will Be Postponed Due To COVID-19
Kenny Rogers’ family issued a statement today saying that they will have a very small private memorial and that due to the COVID-19 pandemic will postpone a big memorial gathering till the later date.
They said in the statement, “The family is planning a small private service at this time out of concern for the national COVID-19 emergency. They look forward to celebrating Kenny’s life publicly with his friends and fans at a later date.”
Rogers died on Friday evening (3/20) at the age of 81.
Many in country music have been paying tribute to Kenny including Brad Paisley who played “The Gambler” on the Opry Saturday night and Vince Gill who performed “Sweet Music Man” on the same show.
Nancy Brooks has been working in the country music industry for almost 30 years. She has interviewed pretty much any country star you can think of. In the late 1990s, she started working with Dolly Parton. And yes, Nancy reports that Parton is as sweet as you would think. She loves her life in country music and has been backstage at every CMA Awards show since the late 1990s.
Many of her stories are from her one-on-one interviews. She was there at the beginning of the incredible careers of many music superstars today, including Taylor Swift, Shania Twain, and Blake Shelton, and has interviewed them multiple times throughout the years.
