How to Sew a Hospital Mask at Home

Fashion designer David Josef has always had a big heart, and now instead of making wedding gowns and bedazzled dresses, he’s making hundreds of handmade medical masks for those who need it most during this time of crisis and uncertainty. His resume is impressive. He's designed and dressed Diana Ross, Cher, Gladys Knight, Dionne Warwick, Cyndi Lauper, Ayla Brown, Gail Huff Rev. Liz Walker and more.

But if you know David, you know that he's never worked with himself in mind, he's created to make the world a better place. Over the weekend he personally made 100 masks, and has a goal of making hundreds more.

So this is a BIG announcement to all of the sewers out there! If you can sew and have the materials to make safe masks WE NEED YOU! Because places like hospitals, nursing homes, police departments don't have many, or even any left.

If your business NEEDS these masks please reach out to David Josef directly at david.josef.fashions@gmail.com. But the best thing you can do is share to anyone you know who can do this.

Thank you! And thank you David!

Here’s a video of him showing how you can make one at home. He says it takes about 15-20 mins per mask. And there is a GoFundMe page that's been set up so 500,000+ medical masks can be made locally at a factory in Fall River.

Any donation you can provide is so greatly appreciated! We are all in this together.
