It’s “One World Together At Home” Benefit Virtual Concert And What A Lineup!
Remember Live Aid in 1985? It was a concert held at Wembley Stadium in London (you saw some of it in the movie Bohemian Rhapsody), and JFK Stadium in Philadelphia. It raised 38 million dollars for hunger relief in Africa. Performers included, Queen, U2, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Phil Collins, Tom Petty, Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger and more.
In 2001 there was “A Tribute To Heroes,” raising more than $200 million for the United Way’s September 11 Telethon Fun. It happened just 10 days after the 9-11 attacks. Concerts were held in New York, Los Angeles and London on aired all major networks. Springsteen was there, so was Stevie Wonder, Faith Hill, Neil Young, Billy Joel, The Dixie Chicks, Mariah Carey, Willie Nelson and many more.
In tough times, there is no doubt that music unites us. Now we have the coronavirus taking over the world. And the world is coming together, in song, to help raise money for healthcare heroes and the World Health Organization.
It will be hosted by all the late night TV hosts, and features a lineup way to long to list. But just know, representing country will be Keith Urban and Kacey Musgraves during the network broadcast main event. The Rolling Stones just signed on to perform. In light social distancing, of course, this concert will be held virtually, from the homes of the artists.
