Facebook Adding Hug Reaction To Help People Offer Support
During these times we could all use a hug… but will social distancing they’re just not possible. So Facebook is stepping in and adding a hug reaction so friends can show support and a virtual hug during these trying times. The hug reaction is an emoji hugging a heart. It will join the other reactions including sad, angry, heart, and more.
A spokesperson for Facebook commented on the new hug reaction saying:
“This idea of a hug reaction came back consistently as one of the emotions and feelings that were missing from reactions. So that’s something that was always on our minds. And with the crisis that we are going through right now, there is no doubt that people need more compassion, more support.”
