LISTEN: A New Song For The Fans, The Band And Crew From Kenny Chesney!
I smell a summer anthem brewing!
With lyrics like:
“We gathered at night for a celebration
Under the flag of a no-shoes nation
Speakin’ our gospel, seekin’ our truth
Brothers in arms, and sisters in cowboy boots
(Who gets to live like we do?)
Raisin’ the roof
(Who gets to live like we do?)”
How can this not be our new summer jam?
Whether or not Kenny is able to play his Gillette Stadium shows in late August, the music is in our hearts, and the spirit of No Shoes Nation is strong.
And this song couldn’t come at a better time!
In a press release Chesney said, “This is a song that wouldn’t exist without all those people on my road family, the folks at all the stadiums nationwide, the radio people who start blasting our music when we’re coming to town,” Chesney reflects in a press release. “But even more importantly, without No Shoes Nation.” He went on to lament about the whole experience, “I always talk about how I can hear them from the bus, and that fun just gets backstage, floats through the air. You get caught up in it … They take all that energy, then they go out into the world and live their lives the same way.”
“I always talk about how I can hear them from the bus, and that fun just gets backstage, floats through the air. You get caught up in it … They take all that energy, then they go out into the world and live their lives the same way.”
Kenny appreciates where he is and who got him there, and expresses that more than most. These words are more than just words, they are Chesney, his team and the fans’ motto…”Who gets to live like we do? WE DO.”
“We Do” will be on Kenny’s brand new album, Here and Now, to be released May 1.
