Electric Companies Say Charge Your Devices Now, Power Outages Coming Monday From Storm
Heavy rain and wind are blowing through New England on Monday, with the National Weather Service issuing a HIGH WIND WARNING starting around 3pm in the Boston metro area, which could lead to power outages this afternoon.
Utility companies are telling residents to plan and prepare for potential outages, especially with many working from home remotely due to the coronavirus.
National Grid says that approximately 10% of its customers in Massachusetts could be impacted for 3 days, however the company says they have been securing additional resources and crews to restore power as quickly as possible.
Eversource also said their teams will work around the clock to restore power as well.
“With many customers working remotely and students relying on technology for distance learning during this unprecedented time, we recognize how important it is to have reliable power,” Eversource’s Doug Foley said in a statement.
Be sure to have all of your devices fully charged ahead of time, including phones, laptops, power banks, etc.
