Golf Courses Re-Open In Massachusetts Today!
Fore!
The call missed by so many golfers is back on course…and courses all over Massachusetts starting today. Governor Baker approved the re-opening of courses in the state, but with some heavy restrictions.
In recent weeks courses were flooded with crowds, before the Governor ordered them to close. The official announcement to re-open came this morning, and stated that golf courses are not essential businesses, and can’t have employees working on site, but security and groundskeepers will be permitted.
“Private operators of courses may permit individuals access to the property so long as there are no gatherings of any kind, appropriate social distancing of six feet between individuals is strictly followed, and the business operator and golfers abide by the specific guidelines for golf courses. Municipalities may decide to open municipal courses under these guidelines if they so choose.”
Golf is back! Massachusetts golf courses are permitted to open effective immediately.

Guidelines include that masks be worn, only the golf course will be open, and players will have to wait in their cars until 15 minutes before their tee time. Carts will available to single riders only, and golf course set up “will be minimal.” Those not following social distancing guidelines will be asked to leave.
