Wilmington Mask Twins
Wilmington Twins Save Coins to Buy Masks for Local Law Enforcement
There are so many things that twins have in common. They say the same things at the same time, they usually have the same interests, if they’re identical well, good luck telling them apart, and it’s most likely they’ll finish each other’s sandwiches! (Frozen reference, duh)
But for these identical twins, they actually share the same interest in helping their local Wilmington, MA law enforcement officers and they both love country music, so they are the coolest kids!
Colin and Jack McCloud are almost 10 years old, they’ll be quick to say that. But they have the empathy, maturity and kindness that usually people much older than them possess. You see, most kids would save their money to buy toys and video games, but just this week Colin and Jack counted all of their quarters, dimes and nickels, realized they had saved a whopping $91 and instead of spending it on themselves, they bought 20 face masks for their town’s law enforcement officers.
This is all going to come full circle because do you remember one of my first feels good stories during this pandemic was about Boston fashion designer, David Josef making masks instead of gowns?
Well, Colin and Jack and their dad Scott bought the 20 masks for the Wilmington Police Department. David has made the masks that I wear, that my boyfriend Rob wears, that Jonathan wears, and now thousands of people across our state and the nation. If it weren’t for these heroic mask makers who knows where we’d be.
When I asked how big the money jar was the boys told me that it was filled about half way up and now it’s all gone and all for a good cause and this is why they wanted to give back to the Wilmington police dept. And appropriately so, they delivered red, white and blue masks.
