Boston Police Officer Captures Escaped Zoo Peacock Using Mating Calls
Just the headline is amazing… and true! A concerned citizen reported that a peacock had escaped from the Franklin Park Zoo in Boston earlier this week. According to the police report, officers soon came face-to-beak with “an extremely large, slightly intimidating, and quite beautiful, male peacock.”
Not knowing how to herd the peacock, one officer decided to look up the sound of a peacock mating call on his phone. He played the mating call as loudly as possible and it caught the attention of the male peacock. Lead by the mating calls, the officer walked the love-craved peacock into a fenced-in yard where the it “patiently waited” for Boston Animal Control.
