10 Summer-Lovin’ Country Songs!
Summertime is finally here! (To quote Kenny Chesney’s “Summertime”).
Summer begins officially tomorrow and New England is in for some hot days ahead this weekend.
Let’s enjoy every drop of sunshine as we approach the longest day of the year, and celebrate with some of the greatest summer-loving country songs~
- (Obviously)Kenny Chesney’s “Summertime.” Kenny is summer! And although we won’t get to see him at the birthplace of No Shoes Nation, Gillette Stadium, the man’s music and attitude can carry us through. Keep calm and Kenny on!
2. Jake Owen’s “Beachin'” The ultimate musically vibey summer jam. Pass the sunscreen, and turn it up.
3. Luke Bryan- “One Margarita.” Tropical vibes and warm melodies takes us away…and bring us a cold concoction…on ice with salt, please.
4. Rascal Flatts- “Summer Nights.” Dining al fresco, drinks poolside, flip flops, outdoor concerts, leaving the house without your parka. We love our summer nights!
5. Little Big Town’s “Pontoon.” No better way to cool off on the dog days of summer than on the water, with country’s coolest band! So, back your hitch up into the water and enjoy this 2006 #1, and the group’s very first #1!
6. Deana Carter- “Strawberry Wine.” No list is complete without a little throwback. In August of 1996, this coming of age tale became a radio staple, and put Deana on the map.
7. Zac Brown Band…hmmm the list of possibilities seems endless, from “Castaway” to “Jump Right In.” There’s “Knee Deep” and “Chicken Fried.” But I’m going with ‘Toes,” the band’s iconic 2009 hit that conjures up images of sinking in the sand, not a care in the world and a PBR in hand. Bring it on!
8. Dierks Bentley-“Somewhere On A Beach.” This laid-back, lazy-hazy-crazy-get-over-you summer jam is pure Dierks and just what every beach playlist needs
9. Brad Paisley- “Water.” Brad knows just how to cool us off! Complete with an “inflatable pool full of Dad’s hot air,”Brad’s sense of humor shines through.
10. Carrie Underwood- “Southbound.” Tan lines and cheap sunglasses… that’s what it’s all about. Welcome summer, and thanks Carrie for this fun summer song!
